Linda Kennedy-Rakos - Family Assistant IV

Kennedy-Rakos, Linda.jpg

Kristen Stanzione

Hello Bailey Bronco families! My name is Ms. Kennedy-Rakos, and I am the Teacher Family Assistant for Pre-K. This upcoming school year will be my sixth year in the Pre-K program, and my eleventh year at SRJ Bailey.

Originally, I am from upstate New York. I started my college years with an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts, before I transferred to UNLV for a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management. After 18 years in the hotel business it was time for a change; in 2007, I started working for CCSD and never looked back. Over my time with CCSD, I have held a variety of positions. My first position was working with fourth and fifth grade resource. After which, I became the assistant to the reading and math strategist for third, fourth, and fifth grade. My next venture led me to the kids program, and finally, to my current position in Pre-K.

When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with my family. I am a mother of two children; the oldest graduated from college with her Masters in Education and my son attends UNLV working on a chemistry degree. I also have three young German Shepherds that keep my husband and myself busy.

I look forward to meeting all of the future families of the next group of Pre-K students, and getting to watch them become prepared for Kindergarten.

Michaela Needham - Autism SPTA

Neadham, Michaela.jpg

Hello Broncos! My name is Michaela Needham. I have been blessed and fortunate to be part of Sister Bailey ES for 4 years as an SPTA. I am originally from the Philippines. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Supplemental of Education at West Negros University in the Philippines.

My husband and our 14-year-old son love to go hiking, traveling, fishing and almost everything that involves outdoor activities. We hiked 24 miles round trip to Havasupai Falls in 2019 and camped by the Havasupai River for 3 days. It was an incredible experience carrying a 30 lb. backpack with all our gear in it. A year before that, we hiked to Mt. Charleston summit (17.5 miles round trip). Hopefully, the next one will be Mt. Whitney. My son loves scuba diving. He became a licensed scuba diver when he was 11 years old. We make sure that our summers and school breaks are filled with fun memories and traveling.

I am very thrilled for the upcoming year. It will be an amazing year filled with learning, fun, challenges, and laughter. Always remember, “The beautiful thing about learning is no one can take it away from you.” Go Broncos!

Dani Nichols - RR IA III

Nichols, Dani.jpg

Hi, my name is DaNel Nichols; my nickname is “Dani.”  I do not have a middle name!  I was born and raised here in Las Vegas. I was born at the Las Vegas’ well-known “Woman’s Hospital.” I am a proud graduate of the historic Gorman High School.  Las Vegas is my favorite place to live; I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

I am married to my husband, Rich. We have two children; Jake, age 25, and Kyla, age 16. At present, we have three cats!  With my husband being the North Las Vegas Animal Control Manager, it is hard to keep this amount of animals down to the three cats!!

I became a member of the Clark County School District as a Teacher’s Aide in the year of 2016. This will be my sixth year at Bailey Elementary. I enjoy working with the younger children because they are so innocent and very happy to learn!

I make friends easily. I always try to find the good in a person.  I feel I have a lot of patience and a lot to offer the Clark County School District.
