4th Grade Team
Greetings! My name is Jane Cooper, and I am a Fourth-Grade teacher at Bailey Elementary School. Although I have been teaching for 21 years, this is my 3rd year at Bailey.
I grew up in Wisconsin and Montana. I am a third-generation teacher. I have two brothers who taught as well as my parents and their brothers and sisters. I have two grandparents who were teachers. Teaching is my passion and my heritage. I’m thankful and proud of that.
I have taught in Las Vegas for the majority of my career in 3rd and 4th grade. Being adventurous, I also taught 3rd grade in South Korea for 3 years and worked as a Curriculum Coordinator in Qatar at a dual-language immersion school for two years. My love of family and country brought me back to the US after meeting and working with wonderful teachers from many different countries and cultures.
I have two Bachelors of Theology and Elementary Education, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction as well as an administrative credential.
My favorite things to do are traveling in the U.S and around the world, photography, painting, and spending time with my family and friends. I have two dogs, Zoe and Maggie, who love riding in the car and going anywhere except the vet's office.
My goal, as your child’s teacher, is to ensure your children have mastered their reading, writing, and math skills, which are foundational to their success as a student and citizen. Children are encouraged to learn and grow through creative projects, discussions, and assignments that are differentiated and interesting. We are a team who respect and celebrate our unique qualities that make us Bailey Broncos. Welcome to Fourth Grade.
Bio coming soon....
Hello! My name is Alma Sanchez and I am thrilled to be beginning my fourth year as a Bailey Bronco! I was born in Los Angeles, CA, went to school in California, and moved to Las Vegas 14 years ago. I am a proud CSU Dominguez Hills graduate with a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science and a Degree in Education from Sierra Nevada College. This will be my 4th year with CCSD. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a psychiatric case worker for 11 years. I’ve taught grades 3rd-4th for three years. I have since realized that my heart belongs in 4th grade.
My free time is spent with my husband and our two kids. I have a son starting middle school and a daughter in 2nd grade. We love traveling together, exercising together, having movie nights, going on walks, and working on house projects together. We also spend a lot of our time on soccer fields and dance classes.
As your teacher, I promise that you will have a busy and engaging year, filled with opportunities for group research and presentations, flexible seating, and memorable projects. 4th grade is an amazing adventure and I look forward to embarking upon that adventure with you!
